Graduate Recruitment Video Tours

One of the favorite aspects of the department’s annual graduate student recruitment weekend is the Saturday field trips. Each year current graduate students organize these trips to show prospective graduate students some of the sights around Gainesville while creating a relaxed space to get to know each other.

For the 2021 recruitment weekend, these field trips went virtual! Current graduate students created ~10 minute videos showcasing the University of Florida campus, local natural areas, and downtown Gainesville. These videos were then organized into seven synchronous virtual field trips, co-hosted by the graduate student field guides and the BGSA recruitment committee who organized the event (Adania Flemming, Emilie-Kate Tavernier, and Lindsey Riibe).

On this page are some of the 20 amazing videos made by graduate students for graduate students. Enjoy!
