Dr. Otar Akanyeti gets the cover article in The Journal of Experimental Biology!

Congratulations to Otar Akanyeti, a postdoc with Jimmy Liao at the Whitney Lab for Marine Bioscience, for getting this month’s cover article in The Journal of Experimental Biology for his work on modeling how fish swim in turbulent flows. Biology PhD student named HHMI International Student Research Fellow

Francisa Leal has been named HHMI International Student Research Fellow. Last Fall, departments and colleges held internal competitions to select nominees for the University-wide competition. Finalists were then nominated to HHMI for the national competition. Sixty-one institutions nominated 377 students, of which 42 were selected. What a wonderful honor. Congratulations Francisca!
