Dr. Karen Bjorndal, Distinguished Professor of Biology and Director of the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research, has been awarded the 2017 Archie F. Carr Medal. “The medal honors others who, like Carr, have been nationally and internationally recognized for their contributions to an understanding of our natural heritage.” Recipients are chosen by a national jury of respected leaders in the sciences. Previous medal recipients include E.O. Wilson, Thomas Eisner and Thomas Lovejoy. Congratulations Karen!
