Recent Biology Alumna Receives E. Mayr Award

Dr. Rosana Zenil-Ferguson received the E. Mayr Award for her Ph.D. research, which was presented at the Evolution Meeting 2017 in Portland, OR. The Ernst Mayr Award is given to the presenter of the best student talk in the field of systematics at the annual meeting of the Society of Systematic Biologists (SSB). “This is SSB’s premier award, and is judged by the quality and creativity of the research completed over the course of the student’s Ph.D. program.” Rosana received her Ph.D. from the Department of Biology in 2016 (Jose Miguel Ponciano and Gordon Burleigh, co-advisors) and is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Idaho (Luke Harmon’s Lab).  Congratulations Rosana!  Please see Dr. Zenil-Ferguson’s paper.
